Puerto Jose Banus or Puerto Banus is a famous sports sea port / marina, in Marbella, located not far from our villa on the Costa del Sol

This port is named after its architect José Banus and was officially opened in 1970 as a marina for luxury yachts and shopping complex for the elite in the presence of celebrities and members of the royal families of Europe. Since that time, Puerto Banus is frequently visited by the rich and famous.

The port area is of 15 hectares. It has the capacity to moor up to 915 yachts from 8 to 50 metres long. There are also more than 50 boutiques of the most famous international brands and 40 restaurants.

Puerto Banus in Marbella is a favourite place for the visitor with an interest in luxury yachts and sports cars, found here in abundance as their owners can enjoy them all year round! And it may very well be that you happen to cross paths with a modern celebrity in the nearby area, for example, the main square of the port is named after Antonio Banderas, who as well as Julio Iglesias, spends here at least a few days each year ;)
